A major video game company specializing in a variety of areas in the video game industry, and is a wholly owned subsidiary and part of the Consumer Products & Services Group of Sony. The company was established on November 16, 1993, in Tokyo, Japan, prior to the launch of the original PlayStation video game system. The logo has been used since 1994.
SCE handles the research & development, production, and sales of both hardware and software for the PlayStation line of handheld and home console video game systems. SCE is also a developer and publisher of video game titles and is composed of several subsidiaries covering the company's biggest markets: North America, Europe, Brazil, Oceania and Asia.
This year @ E3 Sony had very little to present. The biggest announcements were focused on the Vita (formerly known as the Next Generation Portable, NGP) and Uncharted 3. Of course a large focus was their attention to the issues of the PSN Hack. The question arises from many websites "When's the PS4 Coming out?" A few others still "Nothing is coming for a few more years!" and then of course everything in between where speculators and artists decide to throw out mockups.
