Upcoming MMORPG, TERA, features a unique brand of elite monsters called BAM's. BAM stands are Big Ass Monsters, which at first glance sounds quite ridiculous. However once you see your first BAM you realize how true that title is.

Random Gaming Session: Assassin's Creed

I'm too sexy for my blade...

With Assassin's Creed III on its way to my greedy little hands, I decided to start over again with Altair in the first Assassin's Creed. When I first picked it up, I was really excited. I get to be an assassin again (wait, that sounds like I am saying I used to kill people...O_o)! I get to stab people in the face, run/climb up buildings, instead of using ladders, and be an all-around badass. However, an hour or two later, I remembered all the problems I had with Assassin's Creed. While you may love the idea of sneaking around and murdering people stealthily, the life of an assassin gets uber boring after a few rounds. Despite being monontinous, there are lots of things to love about this game. Not the hottest thing on the block anymore, not yet a classic, Assassin's Creed still has replay value. For those that still haven't played, minor spoilers...but honestly, it's been out for five years...

A Steam based console: The Future of PC Gaming?

In an a recent interview from Penny Arcade, Valve’s Gabe Newell mentioned about potentially getting into hardware,

“Well, if we have to sell hardware we will. We have no reason to believe we’re any good at it, it’s more we think that we need to continue to have innovation and if the only way to get these kind of projects started is by us going and developing and selling the hardware directly then that’s what we’ll do. It’s definitely not the first thought that crosses our mind; we’d rather hardware people that are good at manufacturing and distributing hardware do that. We think it’s important enough that if that’s what we end up having to do then that’s what we end up having to do.”

Now everyone is speculating as to what it would be like to have a console powered by Valve. Some see it as doomsday, some see it as the end-all of all consoles. I see it as potentially a great step forward for pc gaming.
