The Xbox is a sixth-generation video game console manufactured by Microsoft. It was released on November 15, 2001 in North America, February 22, 2002 in Japan, and March 14, 2002 in Australia and Europe and is the predecessor to the Xbox 360. It was Microsoft's first foray into the gaming console market, and competed with Sony's PlayStation 2, Sega's Dreamcast, and Nintendo's GameCube. The integrated Xbox Live service allowed players to play games online.

The Xbox was discontinued in late 2006, although the final Xbox game, Madden NFL 09 was released in August 2008. Support for out-of-warranty Xbox consoles was discontinued on March 2, 2009; any in-warranty repair now needed will not be undertaken and faulty consoles will be replaced with an Xbox 360 instead. Xbox Live support was discontinued on April 15, 2010.

Beware those that get a broken street date MW3 copy

Yes, some of us have our grubby little paws on this hot item early thanks to the awesomeness of varied retailers and their excessive need to break street date to get a leg up on their competition...But if you haven't gotten yours yet (or) are still scouring your city for stores releasing them early, be warned - You could get your account zapped.

Two tweets sparked some issues where the first one stating to "...have fun" if you got your copy early (legit copies obviously) and then a followup tweet a day later stating, "...dblchk'd with Activision. Mw3 pre-release play not authorized" - So yeah, good job there confusing your audience...also, why the hell would any XBOX Live Accounts be zapped if you are paying for your game? It's not the consumers fault, who is salivating over this great title and wants to buy it right away.  Why would the end user get punished and not the retailers, that for the most part, never maintain a street date...

This is one of the reasons I get irritated with Microsoft, I love their products, but their way to deal with the public is kind of idiotic. Let's totally go after the people paying for our (Microsofts/Activisions) product, because thats the easiest way to punish the evil tiny 1% of the MW3 buyers who got their copies early...damn them! (Ok, i'm ranting...)

So if you got it early, don't play it, don't even pop it in...just wait until 12:01AM November 8th, 2011 to play your game. If you already have a copy and somehow got in under the radar, be careful you don't end up getting zapped...it might save you time and effort fighting (the man) as it were.

Random Gaming Session - Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge

E-mail Print PDF

I don't know why I love this game so much...I know we've mentioned this often on our facebook and twitter feed.  But it literally needs to be remade or redone for PS3/360 or for the next generation of games.  Granted, Warhawk is similar - but it does not have the same retcon and nostalgia feel this game portrays.  I'm pretty sure you can find this at most any GameStop for $2.99...

It melds a solid Red Baron style of flight game play with a story telling that is akin to Indiana Jones.  One of the creators was quoted stating that he wanted to "take the idea of 16th century Caribbean piracy and translate into a 1930s American setting." using flight.  The games origins from "Crimson Skies" by  Jordan Weisman and Dave McCoy predates the "DieselPunk" movement (2001) which is somewhat on the same parallel as steampunk.
