Random Wednesday Night Movie: Taken (2008)

I absolutely adore Taken, mainly because I see my own father in everything Liam Neeson's character says, does, and thinks. It's surprisingly fast-paced, and I find myself loving Bryan Mills (and yet not giving a damn about everyone else, including the daughter and her mother). Also, that one monologue featured in part in the poster above has to be one of the best pieces of writing and deliverance I've ever heard in my life!

Upcoming Movie: My Week With Marilyn

I've been a big fan and admirer of Marilyn Monroe since I was little, and not just for her films (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Some Like It Hot, and Niagra are just wonderful). Her personal life was filled with torment, anguish, and self-loathing that the general public never saw. Everyone thought the dumb blonde bombshell image she sold in films like The Seven-Year Itch and Some Like It Hot was what she really was, when the reality of it was so much more. Quick! What's the first thing you think of when you hear the name Marilyn Monroe? This image, right?

Random Movie: Don't Bother to Knock (1952)

For anyone who only knows Marilyn Monroe for her infamous white dress in The Seven-Year Itch or her relationship to JFK, I happily present to you one of her finest acting moments:

Don't Bother to Knock is a very Hitchcockian film noir piece that is a perfect showcase for Marilyn's talent as an actress. A lot of people today don't bother to learn anything about her aside from what pop culture constantly gives us.

There is more to a person than just one photo.

I highly suggest this movie if for no other reason than getting to see Marilyn completely (pardon my French) lose her shit. Think The Hand That Rocks the Cradle meets Fatal Attraction. Yeeeaaahhh. In all seriousness, this is a pretty good movie. Go watch it!

Rampage - Uwe Boll - Review

E-mail Print PDF

I have made a grievous error.  For a long time I have not necessarily liked any of Uwe Boll's films and as such essentially gave up on whatever he was doing and decided to not put any attention toward much of his work.  Even after meeting him and learning to like the guy for his convictions.  However while working tonight, I had put on some random movies in the background on my iPad and caught something called Rampage on Netflix.  I didn't notice it was a Uwe Boll film until the credits roll.  As it played, it caught my attention, more and more.  Soon I was sucked in and I rewound it to catch what I did not see.
