Random Saturday Morning Anime-Battle of the Planets

E-mail Print PDF

If you're looking for old school sci-fi anime, you will find it in Battle of the Planets! It takes you back to where the good guys win, the bad guys lost, and there was enough action floating around to keep the action junkie and attention span impaired glued to their seat. This 1978 american adaptation of the popular Science Ninja Team Gatchaman was loved by kids during the 70s. However, a few fans still criticize this series because of the heavy editing it received when it was being adapted for American audiences. Regardless of this, you will enjoy it because it is still a nifty space oddessy for your Saturday morning enjoyment. You know the drill for these space shows: Zoltar and the Spectra attack Earth from outer space and the only ones that can save it are five plucky teenagers known as the G-Force and their giant space ships and mecha.  Personally I like these types of shows from "back in the day". The stories are feel good stories with interesting plots. Throw in the adorable little kid with the stutter and I'm hooked. Hope you enjoy

Late Anime: Serial Experiments Lain

E-mail Print PDF

Serial Experiments Lain is an old favorite of mine. I pop it in when I'm feeling some good paranoia setting in... A "What-did-I-just-watch type moment". Lain usually delivers every time. From the spiritual to the technical; from nano technology to prophecies, Lain seems to have it all. It can still make you think about what future technology has in store for us. Again, late night pondering. Is Lain really real? Are any of us?? Whoa...mind trip...
