Ultimate Avengers 1-2 Review

So, I finally sat down and watched both of the Ultimate Avenger films. First, I have to say that I am glad Marvel created The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes - because both of these films were pretty bad. I will have to sit down and reread some of the Ultimate comics I have and make sure that what I saw was actually part of some aspect of canon. I have to start with a small introduction toward the first movie because, well... it was garbage. I hated the film completely. Perhaps it's (simply) that I don't remember those string of comics; in truth, I never really liked much of The Ultimates series, which generated all kinds of alternate scenarios.

With that being said, I am going to skip forward and talk more about the second film. I am a big fan of the Black Panther storyline because of the differences made apparent by the character, the type of things he faces alone, and the concept of how Wakanda has always struggled through adversity on its own. I also figured, in my mind, with all the material including T'Challa being excellent and very well done in between the Avenger series as well as the BET Black Panther series, I figured the second film would be better; Marvel must have some type of agenda toward making the Black Panther more prominent.

Iron Man: Armored Adventures Season 2

Whiplash

Iron Man: Armored Adventures Season two just released on the 13th of this month and Last night was episode 2.  While the show is still geared toward a much younger audience, I love the series, the artwork and the suit designs are absolutely fantastic as are the reinterpretations of various armored or technologically based characters.  If you are not familiar yet with this series you should catch yourself up on Netflix.com.  It is a cell shaded style of animation (similar to AppleSeed, Appleseed Ex Machina, etc.) that has breathed new life in some older more dated character models.  Among my favorites are Blizzard, The Hulk Buster Armor and the Crimson Dynamo.

Marvel Knights: Black Panther

I started watching Black Panther last night.  I was wondering at first why have I not crossed this title before and it occured to me, out of all the other titles, this one was placed on BET.  I tend to watch all kinds of comedy specials on BET but I never caught any commercials or schedulings of this series.  Obviously this title has signifigance to the black community.  T'challa was the first Black superhero in Marvel Comics - Making his appearance in 1966.

The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes

I've been catching up on all kinds of comic book series with my kids.  Most recently we saw all 26 episodes of "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" which aired on Disney XD and just recently in April completed airing.

I will definitely say this, for a show that is roughly translating a lot of comic book events into a 26 episode series I found it entertaining.  You can definitely feel the young teenage level of the story (it is on Disney after all).

"The Spectacular Spider-Man" A Retrospective

I have been slowly absorbing as much material as is possible with my heavy work load lately. Landing new projects has been the theme of the month for myself as a PMP and for GPX. However, the child inside cannot be supressed and of course neither can the Comic Book fan.
